Know It Show It Do It

Welcome to Women's Weekend Away April 29 - May 1, 2011

Recent Updates

May 4: 285 women listened, learned, laughed and loved at CBWOQ's 58th convention held in Brantford, Ontario. Plenary speakers delivered choice words, insights and calls to know, show and do. Workshops nourished, as did the times of worship. The silent auction raised over $2,000 for Matthew House, Ottawa and CBWOQ's New Initiatives fund.

Many thanks to all the women who worked tirelessly behind the scenes: local arrangements, board of directors, staff and in-the-moment helpers who pitched in when needed.

March 30: Four workshops have been added to our already-strong Saturday schedule. They are:

Workshop A number 20 (repeat of workshop 18) Creative Devotions: The 30-Day Art Journal Challenge.  Led by Ann-Margret Hovsepian.

Silent Auction Updates

May 4: Over $2,000 was raised through this silent auction - all for two good causes: Matthew House, Ottawa, and CBWOQ's New Initiatives fund. Our thanks to all the corporate and individual donors who gave generously: from baskets, to artwork; from one-of-a-kind jackets to soft baby blankets.

April 13: 10 Baskets have been received from the Oxford Brant Association

photo of art donated to WWA 2011 silent auctionApril 12: Artist Sue Zanibbi from our Northern Association has donated one of her pieces. The frame measures 13 x 13 with the inside image measuring approximately 8 x 8. All the pieces are hand cut, some are gold leafed. All the metal braids were put on by hand and the edges burnt with a special burner.

March 29: Donations for Auction - prayer shawls (Harmony Road Baptist Church), baby blankets (Faye Robertson), baby blanket (Harmony Road Baptist Church).

March 16: Just donated: 14 pieces of Blue Mountain pottery (two rearing horses; sitting fawn; swan dish; tulip vase; small upright fawn, leaf candy dish; small jug: three section relish tray; 2 goblets; large ash tray; candy dish; large dolphin with small piece missing from tail). Add to your collection or start one with these pieces. Blue Mountain pottery is no longer made, so grab a piece while blessing Baptist Women.

March 15: Two prayer shawls and one baby blanket received. Perhaps your women's group may want to donate an item.

Feb. 23: Recent items donated for silent auction: quilt (Lorne Park Baptist Church), quilted bags (Cheryl Hughes), baby blanket (Sharon Jackson).
