Three women in bathing caps smiling at cameraFacebook. You know what it is.

It is that online social media site that connects you with old “friends” and acquaintances, new “friends” or just about anyone. Facebook allows you to post photos, “like” everything from a local business to a remark made by one who lives on another continent.

The technology explosion has allowed you and me literally to come face to face with just about anyone. Equipped with your webcam you can chat face to face with your daughter who is at university in Australia or your grandchildren who live in another city or country.

Technology has changed the way we communicate. It can even affect the way we study Scripture. If you cannot remember a specific Bible verse is found, just do a search on a Bible resource site and within seconds you will know.

However face to face communication, actually being in the physical presence of another, is what we crave. It allows us to read emotions and reactions, sharing tears and laughter, making eye contact. God made us this way. Long before technology arrived, His Word challenged us to seek a face to face relationship with Him.

Psalm 105:4 says,” Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” To do this we do not need to download a program or have a computer, Ipad or Iphone sitting in front of us. All we need is a heart that desires a personal relationship with the Lord.

We come face to face with Him as we make time daily to talk with Him in prayer not just with a list of wants and needs but in an attitude of worship.

We come face to face with Him as we read His Word, letting it soak into our hearts and minds, meditating, pondering it.

Coming face to face with our God through Jesus Christ is the privilege we have as His children. Will you take time today to seek His face?
