Sharon Tiessen helps girls at Frontlines createWhen Sharon Tiessen received her grant from Baptist Women, she knew what to do: give young girls a hands-on chance to express their creativity.

In November 2010, she did just that, working with Frontlines in November 2010 - giving girls from the Weston Road/Lawrence high priority neighbourhood the chance to work with clay - making bowls and other installation pieces. Tiessen also worked with Rev. Karen Robinson on Yorkminster Park Baptist Church's  outreach: Girls' Night Out. At this December 2010 event, girls moulded clay into bowls of all shapes and sizes.

Finally, Tiessen created an installation at Weston Park Baptist Church, Toronto, where she is artist-in-residence. Called Unfolding, this installation speaks to the incarnation of Christ - as one  of us . . . the one for whom we wait.
