Brenda's Blessings
Yes friends, God has answered our prayers and the Baptist Women's Missionary Society's cottage at 1320 Stephen's Bay Road, Bracebridge, has been sold. The closing date is September 30, 2010.
We are very thankful for an expert in the waterfront real estate market, Thelma Jarvis, from Royal Lepage, and for Cheryl Hughes, chair of our finance committee, past president and now real estate savvy woman. They both led us well in this process.
In total we received four offers of purchase. God honoured our requests for:
- perfect timing,
- an opportunity as a board of directors to be a witness to His provision and guidance for us,
- grace and wisdom for Cheryl as our ambassador.
Praise be to Him!
Cottage celebration
We are planning a cottage celebration event including a silent auction of some of the cottage's memorabilia. This is open to all but pre-registration to bwoq@baptist.ca is required by August 6, 2010.
Location and Date: at the cottage on Saturday, August 14, 2010
Time: from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Program: registration; silent auction begins; lunch at 12:30 p.m.; official closing service; silent auction ends at 2:30 p.m.
The cottage is still available to rent this summer:

July 16-23
July 30-Aug 6
(Then with fewer furnishings as these dates fall after the celebration event):

The future
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement of CBWOQ.
A committee has been set up to seek God's vision and wisdom: CBWOQ wants to plan well, now, to take advantage of future mission and ministry opportunities through the generous legacy of this cottage - a gift that was given almost 100 years ago. So please join me in praying for this committee.
