BAPTIST WOMEN'S E-LINK - NOVEMBER 2011

You are reading the November 2011 E-LINK, a monthly newsletter e-mailed from Canadian Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec (CBWOQ) to all who are interested in CBWOQ's vision and work, and to all who serve and lead on CBWOQ's behalf.

Thank you for sharing the information in this E-LINK with everyone in your church.

Brenda's Blessings
"Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12, NIV.
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil - this is the gift of God." Ecclesiastes 3:11-13, NIV.

Whether we celebrate a long life like our career missionary and friend, Jessie Rosser, who turns 90 on November 2, or recognize that our days are numbered in the coming moments or days, we are reminded that God gives us each remaining day, that He is in control and that He has made everything beautiful in its time. I am blessed when I ponder the gift of life God has given us here on earth and I am excited about what awaits us in heaven.

October has been jam-packed with speaking at the Camp Hermosa banquet, Guelph Association's "Vintage Hat" party, CBW and CBM board meetings, the Middlesex-Lambton-Huron Association Day Apart and Baptist Heritage/Baptist Women's Sunday at Murray Street Baptist, Peterborough. It is a privilege to hear your passions and how you share your love of God with others in your communities . . . one day at a time.

News Flash! Mark your calendars now. April 21, 2012 is the date for "Women on a Mission" -- our Great Event (and annual general meeting) for 2012 and in keeping with the theme, get ready for hands-on mission and celebration. The location for our event is Mississauga Chinese Baptist Church. Please note that, unlike previous years, we won't be holding our Great Event during CBOQ assembly.

In two weeks our Leadership Training Weekend will be bursting with our best attendance ever. Please pray for our future vision as women of all ages serve our ageless God.

Many blessings, Brenda

1.    Project of the Month - Christmas and Emergency Fund
Your gracious gifts to this aspect of Baptist Women’s ministry means that we are able to quickly support the emergency relief efforts of our partners, like Canadian Baptist Ministries. And that's doubled the impact of your gifts as we've donated well before government deadlines for matching donation. Haiti, Japan, Somalia and Kenya . . . just a few of the countries helped by you through your gifts to us. Thank you.

2.     Great Canadian Bible Study - January 2012
2012’s Great Canadian Bible Study is Crumbs of Grace: The Woman From Syrophoenicia (Mark 7: 25-30). This is a must-do Bible study. Its provocative yet considered questions will get all the women in your church, young and old, digging deeper into this story of Jesus and an audacious, persistent woman.

Each year, Canadian Baptist Women asks participants to offer a toonie or more toward a ministry of Canadian Baptist Ministries. This year your donation will help women who are victims of rape and abuse in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is estimated that as great as 90 per cent of the women in this region have been ravaged by war and there is a great need for counselling and rehabilitation to help these women overcome the effects of such horrors.

Get your copy of the study by downloading it from Baptist Women's website - www.baptistwomen.com/resources; by contacting CBWOQ's office: 416-620-2954 or by e-mailing: bwoq@baptist.ca.
