You are reading the March 2010 E-LINK, a monthly newsletter from Canadian Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec (CBWOQ) to all who are interested in CBWOQ's vision and work, and to all who serve and lead on CBWOQ's behalf.
Thank you for sharing the information in this E-LINK with everyone in your church.
Brenda's Blessings
Pray - Apply - Contact
Pray for Catherine, Kae and Janine, our members in the Canadian Baptist Women's India team. Their short term mission runs from February 25 to March 13.
Pray then apply to join our May short term mission to Atlantic Canada, be part of July's Hawaii Baptist World Alliance Women's Department Leadership Conference or be a member on our August ESL short term mission to the Czech Republic.
Pray, apply and contact us about how the women in your church and community can receive training and encouragement through:
~“Gifted & Called” (a Friday p.m./ Saturday all-day workshop that costs $20 per person)
~“Groups of Hope” (an eight week, small-group workshop helping women on their journey to healing and hope)
~sharing your dreams and stories in person, on the web or in The Link & Visitor.
During February, I enjoyed sharing time and thoughts with some of you at the Buying Sex Is Not A Sport forums in Toronto, MissionExpoTo10 in Toronto and at board, finance committee and convention planning team meetings.
I wonder what blessings March will bring!
Brenda Mann
Executive Director, CBWOQ

1. Receive your E-LINK via our website
We want you to automatically receive the E-LINK via our website - www.baptistwomen.com. Just go to the home page, scroll down the left sidebar and subscribe (follow the instructions). You don't need to have an account on our site to do this.
We don't want you to receive your E-LINK twice. When you've signed up, don't forget to let us know: e-mail bwoqelink@baptist.ca or bwoq@baptist.ca. We'll take your address off our "old" subscription list.
Until the end of July, we'll cross-check both lists. If you're on both lists, we'll take your address off our old list and you'll only receive your E-LINK from the website.
2. Project of the Month - The Link & Visitor
The Link & Visitor needs subscribers. The number of subscriptions projected for 2010 will not cover the magazine's budget and our treasurer projects a shortfall of approximately $6,000.
We're able to make this shortfall history:
a) Call the office to order the free two-minute PowerPoint presentation that promotes the magazine - you may show it anywhere, any time: Sunday morning - announcement time or missions moment, on a Link & Visitor promotion Sunday. DVDs will be available in March.
b) tell everyone why subscribing makes sense: The Link & Visitor informs its readers, reminds them that they are part of a larger family and invites them to discover their stories in its pages.
3. Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada (WICC) World Day of Prayer - Friday, March 5
For WICC WDP 2010, we are invited to come with respect and openness to see what God will reveal through the worship and Bible studies prepared by the women of Cameroon. More information, including resource materials, is available at www.wicc.org.
4. Baptist Women's Sunday - April 25
This is a Sunday to inform and inspire your church community: share about Baptist Women -- who we are and what we do; invite your listeners to visit our website and become registered users; set up a BW table; offer complimentary copies of The Link & Visitor; speak from our biennial theme "Embrace the Mystery" (Colossians 2:2-3).
Need help finding a speaker? Want some encouragement as your women's group plans this Sunday's service? Need a copy of our guidelines for planning and running a Baptist Women's Sunday? Phone or e-mail us. We' re here to help.
5. The Great Event - Friday June 11
Held during CBOQ's Assembly, "Celebrating Eights" is our Great Event's theme this year and you won't want to miss this well-paced, interactive time of relaxed fellowship, fun, food and business.
A soup and sandwich celebration lunch features the 75th anniversary of Canadian Baptist Women, with a special guest joining us. Both at lunch and in our business meeting, attendees will hear eight-minute updates from many of the ministry projects financially supported by Baptist Women.
Register through your CBOQ Assembly registration package and visit our website for updates.
