You are reading the June 2010 E-LINK, a monthly newsletter from Canadian Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec (CBWOQ) to all who are interested in CBWOQ's vision and work, and to all who serve and lead on CBWOQ's behalf.
Thank you for sharing the information in this E-LINK with everyone in your church.
Brenda's Blessings
Life is a gift and every day we have an opportunity to use it wisely.
A recent e-mail reminded me that each morning we receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is NOT credited to us. What we haven't lived up that day is forever lost. Yesterday is forever gone. Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time.
Seconds well-spent
The funeral service on May 11 for B. Doreen Walker reminded me that how we live each day is vital. For years, Doreen served and supported Baptist Women as a driving force on our cottage committee and as a Link & Visitor Association Rep. She encouraged missions worldwide and closer to home - her family.
The May 1, 2010 event for the Niagara-Hamilton Association of Baptist Women reminded me of our opportunity and challenge to be involved in living justly: we may just be a drop in the bucket, but our drop is vital.
The office hummed with activity due to Canadian Baptist Women and Canadian Baptist Ministries board meetings and preparation for our Great Event. I look forward to meeting with many of you there.
Seconds to share
As you receive this I will be taking part in the Atlantic Baptist Women's Convention in Moncton (May 28-30) and will take your greetings to them.
The Great Event happens on Friday, June 11. It begins with lunch at noon, celebrating our 75 years as Canadian Baptist Women. At 3:30 p.m. our "Celebrating Eights" begins. Registration forms are found at www.baptist.ca.
We will have a cottage update for you at The Great Event.
Seconds that lie ahead
We need five women for our Program Resource Committee. Please let Renee (rsejames@gmail.com) and me know if you feel God has gifted you with the time and willingness to prepare 2011-2013 theme-related programs for our women.
Thank you for your support in prayer as we each live out the seconds allotted to us!
Many blessings,
Brenda

Thanks to all of you who sent in photos. Your contributions have made for a compelling video with high production values that you will want to show during your church's next mission moment or at your next Association event.

Canadian Baptist Ministries (June)
Baptist Women's support of Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) means that we are mobilizing women in Canada and around the world to grow spiritually, take a stand against injustice and share Christ with others. Because we partner with CBM, the impact of every dollar you give to Baptist Women is deeper and greater.
Loans/Grants/Bursaries (July)
Baptist Women began when women like you chose to give money to a single woman missionary - one of their own. Our loans, grants and bursary funds keep us connected with what's most important in and to this ministry - you, and the women you know who are ready to lead and need training, want to attend our Women's Weekend Away or have a ministry or service dream that needs some funding to become reality.
Legacy for Ministry (August)
Legacy reminds us to remember the seconds well spent and the seconds that lie ahead.
When we leave a legacy to Baptist Women we say "Thank you" to the thousands of women who obeyed God's call, served at home or abroad and thus bore witness to the power of the Holy Spirit to transform lives - seconds well spent. When we leave a legacy to Baptist Women we mobilize the next generation of women in our churches - seconds that lie ahead.
