This is the amount BWOQ needs to receive each month if we are to meet our 2007 Budget, approved at the Women's Weekend Away. It calls for revenue of $639,000 and expenditures of $687,011. With one-fifth of our undesignated legacies added to income, this will be a balanced budget. The major allocation ($300,000) will go to Canadian Baptist Ministries. In 2006 our actual revenue was $644,053, expenditures were $657,920, and CBM received $316,000.

SPECIAL FUNDS

We invite you to make occasional donations to the Chistmas and Emergency Fund (which enables BWOQ to respond to special needs), Convention Bursary Fund (which helps younger women from all cultural backgrounds attend our biennial conventions) , and the Leadership Enrichment Fund (which enables leaders to participate in training and networking opportunities).

Use these attractive cards to notify people of your gift to BWOQ in memory or in honour. The cards contain a tear-off form to send to BWOQ with your donation.

These cards are available free in packages of 10 from the BWOQ office. We encourage group treasurers to keep a supply on hand.

You may contribute to BWOQ on a regular basis through your Baptist women's group. Or use the envelope in each Link & Visitor magazine.

IN MEMORY

Memorial donations to BWOQ may be made at any time and in any amount through your BWOQ group treasurer or by sending the cheque directly to the BWOQ office. Please clearly print the deceased person's name and city/town of residence, in order that this information can be correctly printed in The Link & Visitor. Inform the family of your gift using our beautiful apple blossom "In Memory" card (at right), available from your BWOQ group treasurer.

IN HONOUR

Recognize a special birthday, anniversary, or achievement with an "In Honour" gift to BWOQ. Make your donation through your BWOQ group or send it to the BWOQ office, stating the honouree's name, place of residence, and occasion. This information will be printed in The Link & Visitor. Our new fuschia "In Honour" cards (at right) are available free through BWOQ group treasurers. Keep a supply on hand to tuck into greeting cards.

LIFE MEMBERSHIPS

Show someone in your church that you appreciate their work on behalf of Baptist Women by presenting her with a Circle or Dominion Life Membership certificate and pin. Some groups present pins that have belonged to other significant Baptist women; others order new pins.

Circle: The Circle Life pin is blue and red on a silvery metal. For each person you wish to honour in this way, download and complete the application form. Send it with a cheque or money order for $35 for the membership and $5.30 for the Circle Life pin (if required) to the BWOQ office, Attention Christina Obacz, 100 - 304 The East Mall, Etobicoke, ON M9B 6E2. Make cheque payable to Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec.

Dominion: The Dominion Life pins used to be made of gold, so the older pins are particularly treasured and often passed from one generation to another. Newer pins are gold metal, but they are still treasured by recipients because of the honour they represent. For each person you wish to honour in this way, download and complete the application form. Send it with your cheque or money order for the membership ($125) plus $40 after for the pin (if requested), to the Canadian Baptist Women's Committee Secretary-Treasurer, 22 Willowlanding Court, Welland, ON L3C 7L73. Make cheque payable to the Canadian Baptist Women's Committee.

NOTE: The procedure for ordering life memberships has been streamlined. It is no longer necessary for groups to order life memberships through their Divisional Treasurer.

Through the generous contributions of time and resources of women in Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec churches, BWOQ supports the work of mission in Canada and overseas.

Monthly Automated Donations to Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec are a convenient way to ensure that your donations are received in a timely and consistent manner—no cheques to write, postage to pay, or dates to remember.

Donations made through the M.A.D. plan can be credited to your local Baptist Women’s group givings. Simply fill out the group information on the form provided. Your divisional treasurer will be informed of your donation. Contact bwoq@baptist.ca to sign up.

LEGACY FOR MINISTRY

Legacy for Ministry is a new joint project of BCOQ, BWOQ, and CBM that will serve all of our BCOQ family. It helps people to write a will (60% don't have one) and encourages them to include their church or other ministry interest as a beneficiary.
