THANK YOU!! Our Women's Weekend Away was such a great weekend together in Markham with over 200 women. Celebrating the past, present and future through old friends returning and new, young first-timers; three amazing vignettes that brought me to tears; worship and love shared amongst sisters in Christ; wonderful leadership from our board, staff, volunteers and special guests!

May 8, 2013: With thanksgiving for a life fully lived for God, CBWOQ announces the passing of one of our own - Jessie Rosser. Jessie went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 7 at her residence in St. Thomas. She was 92.

Born in St. Thomas on November 2, 1921, Jessie was a Canadian Baptist missionary in India from 1947 - 1987. During that time, she supervised a girl’s school in Kakinada in South India and worked with Bible women in Vuyyuru and later Tuni.

jewels spill out of treasure chestHe ended his story with “No matter what I lost, I now had everything that mattered.” This pastor had tearfully and graciously described his experience during civil war, and his time in an internally-displaced-persons camp. That is where he, owning only the clothes on his back, had received everything that mattered – a Bible.

He continued to describe how God’s word provided the encouragement and the strength he needed, and with that he could support and encourage others. What a life-changing impact for many!

"Are you capable of risking your life for someone? Do it for Christ."
