This morning our 20 minute bus ride to a neighbouring village, Terezin, was extremely emotional for each of us. It was a Small Fortress built at the end of the 18th century to fortify Terezin, and then became the Prague Gestapo Police Prison in 1940 - 1945. For most of the inmates, (32000 ) it was just a stop over but some 2600 died due to harsh living conditions and torture by guards, particularly for the Jewish people. From 1945-1948 the Small Fortress served as an internment camp for Germans before their resettlement from Czechoslovakia. In front is the National Cemetery where there are 10,000 victims buried. The Terezin Memorial is "to commemorate the pernicious consequences of the suppression of freedom, democracy and human rights."

Our ride back was quiet as we contemplated all that we had seen and heard.

After lunch we were reminded again that God is in control.  A team member's hearing aid stopped working last night and in answer to prayer ,our host Martin, was able to find someone to fix it this afternoon in time for our big party!

We then had an amazing "Celebration Party" AND the sun shone!  We had prayed for good weather but even though black clouds were all around and a downpour happened just outside the city, God gave us sunshine for our full four hour outdoor program!   Many students with their families and friends joined us for the presentation of the graduation certificates, fun and games like "Minute To Win It", a delicious supper in the garden followed by a traditionalCanadian camp fire with singing, skits and s'mores! It was a great event.  We said our sad good byes and now pray that our invitation for them to join us at the Red Church tomorrow at 9:30 am will bring many back again.

We have had only a small part of this great ministry at Bethel, but our prayers will continue for the staff and volunteers as they share the love of Jesus in this effective outreach.
