Palm Sunday.
I love the joyful and triumphant hymns, children of all ages waving palm branches, parading and singing while going up and down and around our church aisles. I love the newness of life - pussy willows; lilies bursting forth; daffodils. I love the rugged cross with scarlet sash.
For some churches, Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday services will take place. Then comes Good Friday. Why do we call it good? Our pastor reminded us on Sunday that we call it good because Sunday is coming! Jesus paid the supreme sacrifice for us – death and the taking on of our sins and then . . . rising from the dead.
He is with us in our happiness, in our sufferings and trials, and freely gives us salvation!
Taking Him seriously? Yes.
