Hearing voices?
Whose voices? What are they saying? Who's listening?
Hearing the voices of those concerned about human trafficking includes hearing the voices of the abused, the abuser, those who influence the abused and the abusers and those involved in the fight against this suffering.
I’m encouraged when I hear that a local member of Parliament responds to the letters that were written by our women after they had had an evening discussion on human trafficking.
I’m excited when I hear that one of the new committee members working for a special outreach coming to Toronto on Sunday, October 3, 2010, got involved in that outreach after accepting Baptist Women’s invitation to attend the January 2010 forum Buying Sex Is Not A Sport.
I’m impressed when I receive a letter from one of our women who took the challenge to open her eyes to what is being said in her community and municipality about human trafficking. She included a newspaper clipping with her letter.
I’m challenged to keep hearing and sharing the voice of women and children caught in this web.
Whose voices are you hearing?
