We see women mobilizing women . . . for worship and service; for ministry and mission. Every dollar you give helps us to get women moving.

Stop Child Trafficking Now Walk Toronto, October 2010Every year, Baptist women around the world observe a day of prayer on the first Monday in November.

It's a day when you join your sisters and prayer partners from other Women's Unions to pray-for the global social injustices done against women and children; to celebrate-the work that is being done by Baptist women like you to eliminate those injustices; to worship-the Spirit in whom we all live, move and have our being.

It's also a day when offerings are gathered, globally, to support specific projects developed and done by our Baptist sisters. 50 per cent of your Day of Prayer offerings go to the North American Baptist Women's Union and 50 per cent to the Baptist World Alliance Women's Department.

In past years, grants from Days of Prayer offerings have supported Matthew Houses, Toronto and Windsor; former CBM global field staff Ria Deneut's A Tes Cotes ministry in French Canada; and Vancouver's Michelle Miller and her Buying Sex Is Not A Sport initiative.

Thank you for giving generously.

Sharon Tiessen Unfolding - her Advent 2010 installation at Weston Park Baptist, TorontoBaptist Women began when women like you chose to give money to a single woman missionary - one of their own.

Our loans, grants and bursary funds keep us connected with what's most important in and to this ministry - you, and the women you know who are ready to lead and need training, want to attend our Women's Weekend Away or have a ministry or service dream that needs some funding to become reality.

March 2011 CBM receives New Life gift from CBWOQ With its March 2011 "New Life" gift to Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM), Baptist Women is multiplying the legacy of the BWMS cottage. How? Baptist Women's support of CBM means that we are mobilizing women in Canada and around the world to grow spiritually, to get an education, to take a stand against injustice and share Christ with others.

Because we partner with CBM, the ministry impact of the proceeds from the cottage sale and, indeed, the impact of every dollar you give to Baptist Women, is deeper and greater.

Link & Visitor July/August 2011 cover Kim PhucWithout The Link & Visitor, Baptist women (and more than a few men) couldn’t:
-    read award-winning features, written by Baptist women, on spiritual growth, social justice or missions
-    connect with our VitaLinks
-    take up the challenge to be engaged and active, issued in columns like Taking Care of a Princess and What Can One Woman Do?
-    get the back-stories on what our missionaries are doing at home and abroad
-    pause and remember those who've shaped this great organization
-    plan to attend the life-changing events promoted in its pages

Your support of Baptist Women allows us to continue to offer The Link & Visitor at a remarkable subscription rate.

Moving forward, we'd like to offer this magazine online; even have an app for it! In the meantime, we'll be posting a full teaser article on this website with each issue of The Link & Visitor. Have you read the latest article?

Sharon Tiessen helps girls at Frontlines createWhen Sharon Tiessen received her grant from Baptist Women, she knew what to do: give young girls a hands-on chance to express their creativity.

In November 2010, she did just that, working with Frontlines in November 2010 - giving girls from the Weston Road/Lawrence high priority neighbourhood the chance to work with clay - making bowls and other installation pieces. Tiessen also worked with Rev. Karen Robinson on Yorkminster Park Baptist Church's  outreach: Girls' Night Out. At this December 2010 event, girls moulded clay into bowls of all shapes and sizes.

Finally, Tiessen created an installation at Weston Park Baptist Church, Toronto, where she is artist-in-residence. Called Unfolding, this installation speaks to the incarnation of Christ - as one  of us . . . the one for whom we wait.

Through the use of the theatrical ‘props,’ we were able to begin the story telling process within a safe framework. Thank you, Baptist Women, for giving these vulnerable girls the chance to explore something new and beyond their everyday!"

Sincerely, Rebecca Davey

Baptist Women . . . a pair of hands, feet, eyes and ears, helping women in the body of Christ to use their hands, feet, eyes and ears to mobilize other women, young and old. Your gifts make the difference.

Thank you.

nid%3D730%7Ctitle%3D%7Cdesc%3D%7Clink%3DnoneFood, shelter, government assistance, a place to belong . . . just some of the necessities that Matthew Houses offer to women and children arriving in Toronto, Windsor and now Ottawa, with nowhere to go.

We consider Matthew Houses to be homes of hope at the end of the refugee highway. So, for 2010, CBWOQ budgeted a total of $12,000 to give to Toronto and Windsor's Matthew Houses. In 2011, we will add the "newest" Matthew House - Matthew House, Ottawa, to our budget.

Your gifts allow us to support these homes of hope in ways that are practical and significant. Thank you.

nid%3D218%7Ctitle%3D%7Cdesc%3D%7Clink%3DnoneOur Christmas and Emergency Fund works hard.

Each Emergency dollar helps one woman, child or family in crisis . . .  at home or abroad.
$3,000 went to Kenya this year, to support CBM/The Sharing Way relief efforts.

Each Christmas dollar brings cheer to one of our retired missionaries.

Thank you.
